Air Conditioner Condensation Leak on Top of the Inside Unit

8/29/2019 (Permalink)

Photo of the top of a furnace (air handler) with water running from the top duct, out and down into the control areas of the Water seeping out of the duct work and down into the heating/air conditioning main unit and controls

Sometimes the air conditioning condensation discharge happens in the upper part of the system.

This happens when the opening allowing the water to flow out of the condensation pan into the lines gets blocked.

It puts water meant to be exiting the building running down inside the unit instead.

Of course, gravity will take it onto the floor and on out into the rooms.

This picture shows the water on top of the main unit (furnace if you will) and has gone through the slotted openings and on down into the unit.

The problem, in a large Waco church water damage, was discovered when SERVPRO of Waco restoration company traced the cause of a wet floor in the neighboring room back to the water source.

The problem was resolved and the rooms dried back to normal with little residual damage.
